Game Focus: Endless Runners

The first in a series of who knows how many articles focusing on games for the iPhone and iPad.

Anyone that knows me (or has been following this blog) knows that I'm pretty gaga over my geeky toys. In particular my Apple stuff. With summer officially upon us I started thinking about some of the games I tend to waste my time with and decided to toss together a list (or several) of some of my favorite ones. Since it's a rather long list, I'm going to break it down into types. 

First up, the Endless Runner.

Is this the end of the (gaming) world as we know it?

Yesterday several articles came out about Nintendo's announcement of an operating loss of just under half a million dollars.

In many of these articles, the author's posited that the main reason for this loss is the iPhone and iPad. Supposedly, say these articles, the lower prices of the games in the App Store along with the lack of needing a second special device to play them makes them more appealing than Nintendo's offerings.

It’s been called many names, not all of them nice, but Apple’s latest creation, the iPad is certainly getting noticed. Not just by dogs, cats and little old ladies but also by those guardians of fun, the venerable Lego minifigs. 

One band has been photographed opening their new plaything. 

Not the Droids

For some time I’ve been following a photostream featuring the Stormtroopers of Star Wars. It’s always quirky good fun but today made me realize that it deserves to be shared.
